The Universitas 21 Learning Environment Design Forum was held at UCD in Dublin. Once again facilitated by Professor Peter Jamieson, the event focussed on the Newman Building and Library, asking the delegates to consider three distinct areas of the campus for potential redevelopment.
With fewer plenary sessions than the event in Virginia last year, the workshop allowed more time for groups to consider their respective projects. We were able to walk around the campus, taking photographs and drawing sketches to help with the design process. What was very useful was the opportunity to have discussions with students and staff at UCD in order to gain an insight into the users requirements.
The following images give a flavour of the week’s activities, which were happily set against beautiful weather conditions every day.
