I loved this cafe in Little Clarendon Street, Oxford. It has that ubiquitous shabby contemporary style, with recycled furniture and good speciality coffee. The name is a nice play on words from decent coffee and the traditional name for study lounges, commons. Most customers were students but we fitted in well having our meeting before working for the University.

The WiFi has to work here, there are some dubious looking power blocks dangling from the ceiling and bikes stored in the corridor to the loos. But, it shows that people will use these spaces as digital telecommuters or whatever the latest buzz word is for those who don’t need or want to sit in an office.

‘Ground’ rules is an honest statement to set expectations. Coffee is good too!
