LCF – Social Spaces

The vision was to enhance the college community by providing a much improved social space at each site. A colourful, high quality and comfortable place where staff and students can relax for a coffee break, meet visitors to the college, spend time informally between classes, access the university’s Wi-Fi connection, display student work and hold impromptu discussions with colleagues.

In 2014 we also developed a roof garden at John Princes Street, with bright and colourful decking alongside waterproof tables and chairs. I love outdoor learning environments as we know that social learning is vital and spaces that cater for people to be outside are not only healthy but psychologically beneficial for learning too.
