LCF – Mare Street work in progress

In July 2011 work began at our Mare Street site to carry out refurbishment and essential building repairs. In just a few weeks we will joined by courses in Tailoring and the new International Preparation for Fashion, who will move to Mare Street together with more post-graduate students from MA courses in Digital Fashion, Fashion in the Environment and the new MDES course.

These photos are of some of the work in progress, revealing some surprises good and bad. The site is planned for completion by the first week of term, October 3rd.

One of the surprises was a trap door leading to a cellar underneath the canteen. See below.

Leading on from the reception is the main corridor to A block, with the new lighting and beautiful old columns prior to completion of decoration and flooring.
