In July 2011 work began at our Mare Street site to carry out refurbishment and essential building repairs. In just a few weeks we will joined by courses in Tailoring and the new International Preparation for Fashion, who will move to Mare Street together with more post-graduate students from MA courses in Digital Fashion, Fashion in the Environment and the new MDES course.
These photos are of some of the work in progress, revealing some surprises good and bad. The site is planned for completion by the first week of term, October 3rd.

Estates staff investigate the flat roof over the WC block
The reason for the investigation, dry rot in the roof beams and damp in the floorboards
The reception being fitted with new solar reflective windows and double glazed doors
Leading on from the reception is the main corridor to A block, with the new lighting and beautiful old columns prior to completion of decoration and flooring.
One of the new shower cubicles being built in the B block lavatories, partly aimed at providing better facilities for cyclists.
The contractors begin work to the outside of Mare Street reception, removing the old wall tiles and replacing the glazing.
